We are pleased to announce the newest Social Impact Squared Associate, Melanie Elliot.
Melanie is a recent Master’s graduate in Community Health from Brock University, and has worked on several evaluation projects. Her thesis was a qualitative study in the area of music and dementia. This project taught her many valuable lessons, however, her experience outside of the thesis was just as, if not more, influential on her interests and career path. During her time at Brock and since graduation Melanie has kept busy with many different projects, from teaching assistantships in Health Sciences at Brock, website development, grant coordination, and more recent contracts in health and design research and evaluation. Currently, Melanie is part of a team conducting post-occupancy evaluations in healthcare settings. In this context, she uses place-based research methods to understand the user experience and applies that knowledge to improve lives and wellbeing. Through her projects, Melanie has experience in research planning and management, creating data collection tools, liaising with various client teams, finding ways to obtain data from hard to reach populations, and conducting evaluation research. She looks forward to being a part of and learning from the Social Impact Squared team!
